How to Send Bitcoin (BTC) from Bitkub to Ledger
This guide shows how to transfer Bitcoin from your Bitkub account to a Ledger device, with a real screenshot for every step, from installing the Ledger Wallet app on your computer until the balance arrives in your account. It works for every Ledger model: Nano S Plus, Nano X, Nano Gen5, Flex and Stax.
Warning: Never type your recovery phrase, or Seedword, of 12, 18 or 24 words into a computer or phone. If any app or website asks you to type it in, that app or website is definitely fake. Anyone who gets your recovery phrase can steal your money straight away, without needing your Hardware Wallet device at all!!!
What you need before you start
- Your Ledger device and the USB cable that came in the box
- A computer for installing the Ledger Wallet app
- A phone logged in to the Bitkub app, with identity verification completed
- About 20 to 30 minutes if it is a new device that also needs a firmware update
If you have already installed the app and set up the device, skip straight to Step 14, requesting your Bitcoin account number. To install the app on each operating system, see How to Download and Install Ledger Wallet
Using Ledger Wallet on a computer
1. Go to LEDGER.COM (we recommend typing the URL yourself, in lowercase or uppercase. Do not search for the word Ledger on Google, because you may be tricked into visiting a fake website!)

2. Download and install the Ledger Wallet app

3. Choose the Ledger Wallet download for the operating system you use, and install the app

4. When the app is installed, open it and follow these steps

5. Connect the Ledger to your computer, then enter your PIN on the Ledger to connect it to the computer. When done, click Connect

6. Choose the model you are using, then click Select

7. If you have never updated the device, you will be prompted to update it. Follow the steps below

8. Wait until the update succeeds, then enter your PIN to unlock the device and complete the Ledger update

9. Tap Allow on the device when you see this screen

10. On this screen we recommend clicking Continue, which turns on Ledger Sync. This makes things easier if you move your Ledger to another computer or phone in the future

11. On this screen we recommend clicking Install now, which installs the apps for using the Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana chains

12. If this screen appears on your computer and the Ledger device shows it, everything is done correctly and ready to use

13. Close these messages

14. Request your Bitcoin account number with the following steps

15. When you see this screen, tap the small overlapping squares to copy the Bitcoin Address, and you can use it straight away. However, we recommend checking that the Bitcoin Address matches the one shown on the Ledger device by clicking > in the bottom right corner

If you want the Bitcoin Address as a QR Code, tap the button to the left of Confirm to show the QR Code.

16. Once you have copied the account number, go to the Bitkub app and open the withdrawal menu with these steps

In the Address field, paste the Bitcoin Address you copied and check once more that it is correct (we recommend checking the first 6, middle 6 and last 6 characters, or every character if the amount is large. If you have never sent money to this Ledger before, we recommend sending a small amount first as a test)

Enter the amount of Bitcoin you want to withdraw and tap to review the details. After you confirm and complete the security steps, wait 5 to 10 minutes for the Bitcoin to appear in the Ledger Wallet app.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the receiving address change every time? Can I still use the old one?
Yes, you can still use it. Ledger generates a new address every time for privacy, because reusing one address lets anyone trace all of your transactions. Old addresses still receive normally, and money that has already arrived has not gone anywhere.
Does the Ledger device need to be plugged in to receive?
No. The money is on the Bitcoin network, not in the device. You only need it plugged in when you request an address and when you check the address. After that you can unplug it and put it away, and the money will arrive as normal.
I withdrew, but it has not appeared in the Ledger Wallet app yet. How long do I have to wait?
Usually 5 to 10 minutes. If the network is busy, it may take longer. Try reopening the app or refreshing first. If it still has not appeared, check the transaction status in your Bitkub withdrawal history. As long as the transaction is on the network, your money has not gone anywhere.
What is the minimum withdrawal, and how much is the fee?
Check the Network selection page in the Bitkub app. Both figures are shown there and change from time to time, so this guide does not state them. If you withdraw less than the minimum, the system will not let you make the transaction.
What happens if I choose the wrong Network?
The money will not reach your Ledger, and in most cases it cannot be recovered, because each network uses a different address format. On Bitkub's withdrawal page you must choose BTC - Bitcoin only.
If I did not press Confirm on the device, can I still receive?
Yes, you can. Pressing Confirm checks that the address on your computer matches the one the device actually generated. It does not activate the address. But if you do not check, nothing confirms that the address you are about to paste into Bitkub is still yours, so you should check every time.
Why do I need to install the Bitcoin app on the device?
Because that app is the part that creates addresses and signs transactions for the Bitcoin network. Without it on the device, the Ledger Wallet app cannot request a receiving address. You install it once and it works from then on.
Once the transfer in is done, how do I send it back out to Bitkub?
See the other guide: How to Send Bitcoin (BTC) from Ledger to Bitkub The steps are different, because sending out requires signing the transaction on the device.
Will SIAMBC or Ledger ever ask for my recovery phrase?
Neither of us will ever ask, under any circumstances, and nobody has any reason to know your recovery phrase. Anyone who asks for it is a scammer. No exceptions. That applies whether they claim to be SIAMBC staff, use Ledger's name, or say it is for a warranty claim, identity verification, a firmware update or account recovery.
Summary
There are two points you cannot get wrong when receiving into a Ledger. The first is that the receiving address must come from the Ledger Wallet app and must be compared with the address on the device screen before you use it. The second is the network: on Bitkub's withdrawal page it must be BTC - Bitcoin. Once you are past these two points, all that is left is waiting for the network to confirm.
