ELLIPAL Titan Mini is a small air-gapped hardware wallet. It works on the same principle as the Titan 2.0: no WiFi, no Bluetooth and no USB data path, with everything passing to and from your phone as a QR code. It is simply scaled down, so it is easier to store and easier to keep out of sight.

Smaller, without less security

At 75 x 71 x 10.5 mm and 120 g it is small enough to sit in a safe or a drawer without taking up room. The body is still sealed metal, it uses the same CC EAL5+ secure element as the larger model, and it still erases its own data when tampering is detected.

What differs from the Titan 2.0 is the screen and the battery: a 2.7 inch color touchscreen, a 600 mAh battery, and a recovery phrase generated as 12 words rather than 24.

Security

The private key is generated on the device and stays on the device, and every transaction is signed offline. If tampering or disassembly is detected the device is designed to erase its private data on its own.

You can set a PIN and add a passphrase as a further layer. The device generates a 12-word recovery phrase and imports an existing 12, 15, 18, 21 or 24-word phrase, so moving across from a wallet that uses 24 words works normally.

Firmware updates are installed offline through the ELLIPAL Security Adapter and a microSD card, which are separate accessories, so the device never needs a network connection even to update.

Coins and devices supported

More than 10,000 tokens across more than 40 chains, including BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL, BNB, ADA and TRX, plus layer 2 networks such as Arbitrum, Optimism, Base and Polygon. NFTs are supported on Ethereum and Polygon.

It works with the ELLIPAL app on iOS and Android, connects to MetaMask, and reaches dApps through WalletConnect. It holds up to 10 accounts: 5 from recovery phrases and 5 imported by private key or Keystore.

Common questions

Is a 12-word recovery phrase less safe than 24 words

In practice there is no difference. Twelve words give 128 bits of strength, which nobody can break with computing power that actually exists. The advantage of 12 is that it is shorter to write down, quicker to punch into a steel plate, and easier to get right. If you want 24 words, the Titan 2.0 generates them directly.

Does it work with iPhone

Yes, with both iPhone and Android, because it connects by scanning QR codes rather than through a port or a radio.

How does it differ from the Titan 2.0, and which should I choose

The same level of security, the same chip, the same sealed metal body. The difference is the screen and the size. If you want a large screen for checking destination addresses and you use it often, take the Titan 2.0 with its 4 inch screen. If you want long-term storage that lives in a safe and comes out occasionally, the Titan Mini is smaller and easier to put away.

If I lose the device or it breaks, are my coins gone

No. The coins are on the blockchain, not inside the device. Use your recovery phrase to set up a new one, or restore into any other wallet that follows the BIP39 standard.

Why is it called air-gapped

Because there is no networking hardware inside the device at all, not merely a connection that has been switched off. Data moves in and out only as QR codes scanned by the camera and shown on the screen.

One rule to remember

Anyone who asks for your recovery phrase is a scammer. No exceptions.
