CoolWallet Go

The CoolWallet Go is a credit-card sized cold wallet with no battery and no buttons. You tap it to your phone to sign. There is nothing to charge, nothing to wear out, and at 0.8 mm and 3 g it lives in your wallet alongside your bank cards.

CoolWallet position it as an entry-level wallet — the first step into self-custody.

How you verify transactions

The Go is deliberately buttonless and screen-free — that is what makes it 0.8 mm thin, battery-free and durable. You review and approve each transaction in the CoolWallet app on your phone.

If you would rather confirm transactions on the device itself, the CoolWallet Pro adds an E-paper screen and a physical confirmation button.

Two cards, seedless backup

A Go set ships with two cards. The first is for daily use; the second is your backup, and it restores your wallet if the first is lost or damaged.

During setup the recovery phrase is copied between the two cards over an encrypted NFC transfer, so you never have to write down a seed phrase unless you want to. If you prefer a written backup, choose to create the phrase in the app during setup: it appears once on your phone for you to record by hand. A phrase created on the card is never displayed.

Common questions

Why does it come with two cards?
The second card is a full backup wallet, not a spare accessory. If you lose the first, the second restores your funds.

Is it as secure as the CoolWallet Pro?
No, and CoolWallet say so directly. Without a screen it cannot show you what you are signing, so you are trusting your phone's display. The Pro adds an E-paper screen and a physical button for on-device confirmation.

Does it need charging?
No. There is no battery. It draws power from your phone over NFC when you tap it.

Can I use it from a computer?
No. CoolWallet list mobile support only, on Android 7.0+ and iOS 15.6+.

Do I still need to write down a seed phrase?
Not necessarily. The two-card backup copies your recovery phrase between cards over encrypted NFC. A written phrase is only possible if you choose to create the phrase in the app during setup; a phrase created on the card is never shown.
